Fear-Free Award 2024

I am honored to have received the Fear-Free Award 2024 for my article on the use of venlafaxine in cats, published last year in the Journal of Veterinary Behavior: “Retrospective study on the use of venlafaxine in 176 cats diagnosed with behavioral disorders.”

This distinction highlights the growing importance of medical treatment for feline behavioral disorders, which is now emerging as the gold standard. Thanks to this recognition, the article is available in open access for one year!

Another crucial aspect: the diagnoses are expressed using the French nomenclature—an approach still unfamiliar to many English-speaking professionals. This publication therefore brings valuable recognition to the French model and marks a significant step toward harmonizing veterinary practices on an international scale.

The interest shown by Anglo-Saxon experts in Veterinary Psychiatry of the Dog has contributed to this momentum, strengthening scientific exchange between countries. A promising sign for the evolution of care standards!

Many thanks to Fear Free and the Journal of Veterinary Behavior, as well as to my wonderful co-authors: Bleuer-Elsner Stephane, FRANCOISE SCHWOBTHALER, and Delphine Metz.
